This is the second logy of trilogy Hunger Games. Katniss and Peeta, two tributes from District 12 finally could make themselves victors.  They, especially Katniss, finally had proper life: proper house, food and other supports. Did all supports make their problems in life, in the midst of Capitol tyranny, solved? President Snow, who happened to be tricked by Katniss’s trick at the end of Hunger Games wanted to teach her a lesson. The berry act between Katniss and Peeta was considered a rebellion by Snow.
The next year, after the 74th Hunger Games, was the 75th Hunger Games which was called as Quarter Quell. All the living tributes must join the Quarter Quell, including three victors from District 12: Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch who was formerly their couch in the previous Hunger Games. The last year nightmare in the game must come again to Katniss and Peeta. This time, Snow really didn’t want to release Katniss free as a victor.

Besides about the Quarter Quell, Catching Fire tells about the rebellion from district 8 started to burn Katniss to move the people against Capitol. It’s been 75 years; the civilians must ‘enjoy’ the bloody entertainment programmed by the government. Will there be any chance for Katniss and the people to rebel?

Comments:
In this book, it is clear who plays the role as an antagonist, President Snow. Different from the previous book, Snow was only a character who continued the tradition of Hunger Games in Capitol. Previously, the antagonists rest on Katniss’ enemies must face during the game.
Katniss’ feeling toward Peeta grows here despite her guilty feeling towards Gale, her childhood best friend. Who wouldn’t love Peeta? As this novel reader, I myself head over heels in love with him if only Peeta really existed. Another character I love a lot is Cinna, the designer who understands Katniss inside out. I love the part when he magically turned Katniss’ wedding gown into mockingjay costume.
I can say that this novel has the same power as the previous one. Well, you know, most of the time some novels don’t have similar strong energy as the former ones. The end even gave me headache. No wonder, there was someone uploaded their reactions after they finished reading Catching Fire.
“Katniss, there’s no District 12”, said Gale. My head’s spinning!!! I gotta finish the last book. Very soon!!!!
